Patty Kim Hamilton is a writer and performance-maker, currently completing her masters in Scenic Writing at the University of the Arts, Berlin. She received her Bachelors with Honors from Stanford University, where she was the recipient of the Sherifa Omade Edoga Prize for Work Addressing Social Issues. She has worked at Playwrights Horizons, Crowded Fire, HAU, the English Theater Berlin, Ars Nova and with Gob Squad. As Playwright-in-Residence in 2019 at the Shakespeare Academy at Stratford, CT. Her play ‘ICH HÄTTE GERN ZU MEINER LEBZEIT KEIN KRIEG (I don't wanna experience war)’ will premiere at Stadttheater Bremerhaven, June 2021 (delayed due to COVID). Her play 'when it hurts // this body is just a house' was a semi-finalist for the 2020 Eugene O'Neill Playwrights Conference and was selected for Cimientos 2021 Play Development Program. Her text ‘Sex Play’ was performed as a s

staged reading in October 2020 at the HfMT in Hamburg. Her work exists at the intersection of the intimate and the political - meditating on bodies, family, language and the taboo. Through her writing, she attempts to facilitate communal healing, honest and transformative reflection and joy. Currently she is part of the inaugural writing assistant program through Netflix Germany, supporting the development of a new series.
